| Katherine Jack (b.1979) is a photographer and writer working between the UK and the islands of Palawan in the Philippines. Her photographs explore the fragile balance between people and the natural environment of Palawan – offering rare insights into the islands’dynamic landscapes and cultures. Her feature articles on travel, culture and the natural world are regularly published in a range of international magazines. Katherine took European Studies at Trinity College, Dublin and spent a year at the Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow. She then worked as an assistant and writer for Geographical magazine and completed an internship at the London office of Magnum Photos. Katherine took her first images of Palawan in 2004, when she volunteered as an underwater photographer for a World Wildlife Fund expedition in the Sulu Sea.
